GE ADVERTISING STORE DISPLAY. Happy HotPoint was often placed in appliance store window displays in. The 1930s and through the 1950s beside a featured HotPoint Appliance. He would usually hold a card announcing a special offer. Or price point in his slotted hand. Designed by famous artist Maxfield Parrish for Cameo Products. Other Cameo advertising figures. Include “Bandy” Bandmaster and RCA RadioTron Dolls. Happy HotPoint is a hand painted doll with a composition head and body. He has jointed r e-positionable wooden appendages and can stand on his own.. Although I would support him with a doll holder for longer periods of time. And for his safety = He is over 7 0 years old and his joints are a little weak. His Original Paint is still bright but has some crackling, discoloration and wear. He is 15 tall. Was a pixie mascot for Hotpoint appliances during TV commercial segments on the ABC sitcom. The role of the pixie was played by then 17-year-old Mary Tyler Moore (just out of high school). Who was making her acting debut as Happy Hotpoint. For the part, she wore a head-to-toe. Gray leotard costume fitted with a heavy corset. A small curl of blond hair peaked out of her headpiece at the forehead. My mannequin heads were made by Decoeyes (Jerry & Susie) in the U. Since Jerrys mannequin heads were so well made, I found them to be completely addictive and I have a lot of them. I will be listing them whenever I can, but this will take time. I used them mainly for photography and many are like new but others have sustained some bumps and bruises, which I will describe to the best of my ability and include in the pictures. These were made of some sort of resin and are nearly unbreakable. There were ones that were cast in what he called Waxi-Cast and I believe I can point those out, as they have a darker complexion than the rest. They were all cast from original mannequin heads of the period and all work was done by hand, including painting and casting. The name of this mannequin head is Mira. This is an exact quote from Decoeyes original description of “Magic” Mira. This is a precise REPLICA of a 1930’s department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. This lady has a unique Art Deco appearance and will add a period radiance to any setting. She is 19 1/2″ tall, has a forehead circumference of approximately 20 1/2″ and a shoulder width of 14. Apparel (jewelry, hat, wrap) and stand are for display and not included in the final sale. This model was cast in a composite resin (a blend of resin + powdered porcelain) that is nontoxic, very durable, and accepts paint beautifully. The paint technique, style and colors are accurate to the vintage models of this era and looks very much as a brand new 1930’s model would have appeared. This model was made to be a “working girl” with maximum durability. There is a 1 1/4 spout opening on the bottom that may be utilized safely with a stand on a dowel rod. My wife and myself do all the work from molding the original vintage model to the final detailing. Mira has red hair, beautiful hand painted lavender eyes, and lovely makeup. Decoeyes mannequins are the ONLY ones I know of that are EXACT reproductions of vintage ones. It’s nice to have one of the old ones but they invariably have chips, cracks, have been repainted (sometimes very crudely), and who knows what? And most are made of plaster, which isn’t nearly as durable as the resin that was used by Decoeyes. Im sure you will love this mannequin head, as I did for so many years! Condition: Please use the photos as part of the description. On the left side of the base, there is a darker color paint. You can see it in the photos. Otherwise, she is in great condition. The item “Decoeyes Mannequin Head/Bust Vintage 1930s Style Store Hat Jewelry Display Mira” is in sale since Friday, November 1, 2019. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Advertising\Merchandise & Memorabilia\Mannequins”. The seller is “somewhereintime6766″ and is located in Nesconset, New York. TOP GOLDEN AGE HOLLYWOOD! Up for sale here are. TWO (2) ORIGINAL 1930’s 1-of-a-kind Jean Harlow Life-Sized Movie Poster Store Display Portraits! Made to advertise high-end coat couture back in Hollywood when Harlow was still alive and working for MGM during the 1930’s. Harlow died unexpectedly in 1937, and so these have to predate that famous tragedy. She was only 26 years old when she passed away, and, at the peak of her movie career. She was also one of the top people in the industry of “glamour, ” which was ruled supreme by the lineup of female stars at Metro-Goldwyn Mayer! I’m sure that’s why they paid her to advertise these coats. The two life-sized (30 by 60 inch) portraits of the young and vibrant superstar depict the hight of Depression Era glamour and the “Hollywood” sensibility. You can even see the classic Hollywood imagery in the background with the palm trees and the distinctive California. No question that these are from Tinseltown. As as an extraneous side-note point of interest – Palm trees are NOT indigenous to California, despite the fact they are so synonymous with the “Golden” state, especially in the many images you’ll see promoting Hollywood and/or the city of Beverly Hills! I acquired this pair of displays about three decades ago from one of the top Golden Age collectors. I do not believe these were originally framed in the 1930’s, as witnessed by the small approx. 1/2 inch brown border that surrounds both displays. It’s hard to see the brown border in the photos because of the frame, but they’re there. These were framed to display them in a home. Both displays are in fantastic shape. Both were made using tremendously LARGE photographic blowups, which makes these especially rare as an artifact, as it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find original 1930’s photographic portraits as BIG as these – on any star, never mind such a great legend. It’s unlikely there were many of these made, if there were even any more than these two produced in the first place! I have a hunch these were the only two created. Otherwise, these would likely have been lithographed if a measurable quantity was needed. That’s because the photographic process was MUCH more expecive than lithography, especially in this giant size. In display A, Harlow sports a Kragshire coat, and on the B display – a Kiki coat. Obviously, these would serve well as a centerpiece addition to any advanced collection or otherwise. Below is the amazing filmography of Jean Harlow. 1929 – Double Whoopee… As Swanky blonde in her first standout role with Laurel & Hardy in their classic short. 1930 – Hell’s Angels… As Helen directed by Howard Hughes. As “Extra” in restaurant scene in the Charlie Chaplin masterpiece. 1931 – The Secret Six… 1931 – The Public Enemy… As Gwen Allen with James Cagney. 1931 – Platinum Blonde… As Anne Schuyler directed by Frank Capra. 1932 – Three Wise Girls… As Cassie Barnes in her fist starring lead role. 1932 – The Beast of the City… As Daisy Stevens, aka Mildred Beaumont in this early Film Noir classic. As Blonde at Paradise Club in this early Howard Hawks controversial gangster film. 1932 – Red-Headed Woman… As Lillian “Lil” / “Red” Andrews Legendre. 1932 – Red Dust… As Vantine starring with Clark Gable. 1933 – Hold Your Man… As Ruby Adams with Clark Gable. 1933 – Dinner at Eight… As Kitty Packard directed by George Cukor. As Lola Burns directed by Victor Fleming. 1934 – The Girl from Missouri… As Mona Leslie with William Powell directed by Victor Fleming – David O. 1935 – China Seas… As Dolly “China Doll” Portland in another vehicle with Clark Gable. As Hattie with Spencer Tracy. 1936 – Wife vs. As Helen “Whitey” Wilson with Clark Gable directed by Clarence Brown. As Suzy with Cary Grant. 1936 – Libeled Lady… As Gladys Benton with MGM legends William Powell, Myrna Loy, and Spencer Tracy. 1937 – Personal Property… As Carol Clayton with Clark Gable in her final film. It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock – Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won’t inspire anyone! The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. These vintage store displays are definitely ECONOMY PROOF! FOR MOST ITEMS LISTED. If you’re in the market for top quality original vintage movie posters or Star Wars, then please. Vintage Budweiser Beer Sign 1930s Painted Tin Litho Antique Store Display Rare
A very rare c. 1935, Budweiser display, in great shape for its age and intended use. Reads: Take Home Budweiser Beer Makes Good Food Taste Better, and features a bottle of Budweiser, poured in a Pilsner style glass, on a silver platter. Image of Budweiser bottle and glass seems to be a smaller, tin litho sign, affixed to larger display, where letters/words appear painted/stenciled (see photo 12). Measures about 37″ x 17″ x 4 weighs nearly 5 lbs without packaging. Seems to have been a store display/advertisement, to display Budweiser bottles, as it encourages folks to Take Home Budweiser Beer. The power of suggestion! For age and intended use, colors are sharp, vibrant, maintains all its character, and displays quite well! Stenciled on back, but faded NO 18. I had a fellow eBayer write, saying they have this sign, voiced belief it’s rare and worth more than I’m asking! I’m no expert, but I believe the sign dates to the mid-1930s, since Take Home Budweiser Beer Makes Good Food Taste Better, was a slogan used from just after the end of prohibition (1935), into WWII (1943). My sense is this was created before the war, as metal was used for the war effort. I also believe the reason it’s hard to find other records of this sign, is they were likely scrapped for the war effort. For conditions, review photos closely using magnifying tool or zoom in. Sign likely dates to mid-1930s, and in used, but good condition. Wear consistent with age, intended use, small indentations, dings, scratches, tiny rust spots. Colors bright, vibrant, letters/words appear painted/stenciled (see photo 12) and sign retains an affixed tin lithograph (on the right) featuring Budweiser on a silver platter. Attached hardware seems intact and solidly affixed to sign. If you have questions or would like more photos, please ask! Thanks for looking and PLEASE MAKE AN OFFER!! No international buyers, please! If there will be a delay, please contact me. As always, MAKE AN OFFER unless option unavailable. The item “Vintage Budweiser Beer Sign 1930s Painted Tin Litho Antique Store Display Rare” is in sale since Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
