Marked: PATENT APPL’D FOR THE PFLUGRADT CO. Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Gum Store Display. 15 5/8″L x 9″W x 1 1/2D. 3 pounds 11 ounces. Good condition for its age. There is a crack (see photos 3 & 4) visible top and bottom, and cracks along the one edge of the base visible only from the bottom (photo 10), a fleabite near the crack (photo 4) and chips or manufacturing flaws on the base (photos 9-10). This tray is shown in the book “Great Country Store Antiques” by Rich Bertoia on page 38. Apparently, the tray originally had feet which kept the tray at an angle. I actually was never able to find any information regarding this piece on my own and a very nice eBayer sent me a photo of the tray from the book mentioned above. The photo showed the tray with the Wrigley’s gum on it with longer legs/feet underneath, near one handle and shorter feet underneath, near the other handle.
