Rare vintage Planters Mr. Peanut advertising costume, mascot, parade costume in pretty good condition for its age. The costume is 48 inches tall and approx. The hat has been repainted and could be redone but looks great still. The letters on the hat are worn some. On the inside of the costume where the arm hole is the plastic was thin and it tore but does not hamper its use and you cannot see it unless looking for it. This costume would fit a small person. This looks great as a display piece as well. There are a few spots on it that could possibly be removed but overall condition is pretty good. This item can also be picked up locally at my place which is one hour South of Cleveland Ohio. Up for sale is a vintage original 1960’s Platers Mr. Peanut parade costume, store mascot, display, sign, wearable advertising piece. These mascots were used at ball parks, football games, and other events to advertise Planters Peanuts. People were hired to wear them around stores, sidewalks, parades, public functions etc. The piece measures 48″ tall overall with the hat x 17″x17″, it is 36″ tall without hat. The condition of the mascot is very good used, with normal time/use wear, no cracks, holes, or dents, shows some scratches and wear. One of the two side clips (visible when hat is off) is broken – see pictures. This is definitely a great collectible piece either for display or wear.
