Pierrot Gourmand is a famous historic French candy brand founded in Paris in 1892. It is best known for inventing the iconic flat, spear-shaped milk-caramel lollipop on a wooden stick in 1924, traditionally wrapped in a decorative paper twist (papillote). 7 “W x 8″ tall. Origin: Created by Parisian confectioner Georges Evrard, inspired by the poetic character Pierrot from French pantomime and art. The Icon: Historically displayed in French bakeries (boulangeries) inside a porcelain bust of the white-faced clown Pierrot. Manufacturing: Authentic caramel recipes use local fresh milk and sugar, keeping traditional cast-iron mold methods alive in France.
