This set comes as shown. It’s in good condition for its age, some scuffs and spots on the case, but nothing serious. It is full of decals, all still new in their envelopes, I estimate a couple of hundred.

VINTAGE DURO “SIGN MAKER” STORE DISPLAY METAL BOX GREAT ORIGINAL CONDITION. This beautiful Duro “gold leaf” style decal store display advertising decals of different sizes. In looking through them, it appears that there are three sizes; 1″, 2″ and 3 that have Letters, Numbers & Symbols. Not every tab contains letters. They came from an old Mom & Pop Stationery Store in the 1940’s 50’s era. The box graphics say “CHICAGO, ILL”. The red metal box measures 17 x 14 x 6 inches. It weighs approximately 15 pounds. The red metal box top shows some wear appropriate for it’s age. Some scratches, paint wear and nicks. The inside lid size chart is in nice used condition. The graphics on the front and 2 sides of box are in very good condition with most letters intact. Back of box is blank. The display box has been safely stored for several decades and came from the Grandparents estate. The box contains decals for most of the alphabet, but notice that it is missing some. I did not take the time to sort through every tab and get an actual count. I did use some of the letters on an old glass railroad door a few years back. The decals worked out well after I followed the instructions on the jackets and soaked them well before applying. Overall, it is a nice vintage box containing some neat old decals of Letters, Numbers and Symbols.

This is a authentic vintage Duro Metal Advertising Store Display Cabinet. It has hundreds of Duro waterslide decals that were used for sign making in the 1950s. Applications included truck windows, grocery store displays and store signage. The decals are in excellent condition! Nearly every decal is enclosed in a wax paper pouch, some with detailed instructions. Most are a black and gold foil finish. They all use a water application and are Permanent. Can be used on smooth surfaces such as glass, metal, plastic and fiberglass. These decals have been tested and applied. They still work after 65 years! The Metal Display Cabinet is a Store countertop display. It measures 17-1/8′ long x 13-5/8″ wide x 5-3/4″ tall. The top is of cabinet is worn, but everything is sturdy. The interior is very nice. There are hundreds of letters, I stopped counting the 3 letters at right around 300. There’s about half again as many of the 1/2 letters. Also various styles of type. Because half the time we dont have the slightest idea what were doing, (Old age), It will be up to you to do your own research to determine what this item is, if its complete, or how old it is. Unless I state I know for sure in the description, I might just be guessing as to what I think this item might be. Be sure to ask questions if need be. All 19 photos are for your viewing pleasure and to help you determine just what the heck this thing is. Please remain seated until this ride comes to a complete stop. This box is filled with tons of letters, numbers semi-colons, ampersands, cent and dollar signs. I didn’t take inventory, but I did count just the letter “K”. In the one inch size there are 30, 1-1/2″ there are 19, 2″ there are 19, 3″ there are 18, and in the 3-1/2″ size there are 10. There is an inventory sheet from 1978 that shows there were over 3,300 decals at that time. Looks like when new letters were ordered, they came in a pack of 10 as that is how they’re stapled together. Only comes with what is described and shown in my photos in the description area. All our listed items are as found, but I might have wiped dust off or something minor like that. Absolutely no repairs are done to any items unless stated in the listing, (Very rare).
