Vintage store display for the Royal Tailors, a made-to-order clothing company in Chicago that provided bespoke tailored suits and overcoats, or dresses and skirts to customers of general stores and other clothing shops outside the city. Metal display was found with ad for a dry-goods store in Plaza, North Dakota. It measures 24 wide. The display is 18″ tall with the tiger sign at the top (and 12″ tall when the tiger sign is folded over the shelves). There are two tiered shelves, each divided into two compartments approx 11 1/4″ wide and 4″ deep. The display is approx 16 deep. At the bottom front, there is a narrow 24 wide open slip-pocket shelf for papers, like the order forms for clothing from the Royal Tailors. Shelf has a couple of little dents plus bumps/dents on the lower corners, as shown. I think the order blanks are probably more of interest to a seamstress or tailor or costume designer. Of particular interest is a booklet of’ORDER BLANKS FOR MADE TO MEASURE CLOTHES’ with’TRACE SHEETS FOR USE WITH THE VISUAL-STYLER. There are blanks for Men’s tailored clothes (suits and overcoats, pants and shirts) and also for Ladies’ Tailored clothes (dresses, coats, skirts and slacks).

Up for sale is a wonderful old Antique Advertising Sign for M-Born & Co. “The Great Chicago Merchant Tailors”. This is a heavy cardboard sign. Overall it is in very nice shape for being about 115 years old. Has some normal age and usage wear. Has some edge/corner wear and age discoloration. Has it’s orig. Hang string still attached. It measures 14 3/4 in. X 19 7/8 in. Just a super cool and very rare piece of Chicago History. Please check out photos as they are also part of the item description.
