Very cool, unique, and unusual general store shelf/table. It would be great as focal piece in a home or business and could be used as a shelf or could be stepped-out for display, while fully converting to a table. Thus you could move it aside on casters as a shelf to save space, and draw it out fully as a table. My guess is that it was made between the 1890’s and 1920’s. The shelves and legs are oak, the side metal supports are steel, and cast iron is intermingled for spacers and connectors. Wear and tear (photographed). The shelf is old, thus it shows discoloration to the wood where wet items were placed. Also splitting occurred in the frame where the legs meet the pivot joint. These sections are only visible from the interior of the rack, not the outside. Also they have been repaired and structurally sound.
