Rare Early Pflueger Fishing Tackle Cardboard Diecut Advertising Sign

Offered here, one of two known complete examples of a 1946 Pflueger Fishing Tackle Company. Super great colors and subject matter. Only one other example is known to my knowledge. This was originally a large easel back counter top sign, but the easel is missing from this one. You can see there is a small piece missing from the extreme lower left-hand corner, but it does not detract from the fantastic subject matter of the sign. This sign is completely original with no restoration. This sign is approximately 26″ tall by 19″ wide. Ultra Rare Early 1900's Fishing Tackle Fish-Shaped Diecut Advertising Sign

Extremely rare and early Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett and Company of Chicago diecut fish-shaped advertising sign. This original and unrestored sign is heavy enamel paint over an early masonite material. I have never seen another example of this sign, nor has any other long time collector that I have shown it to. While difficult to date, I believe this sign is from before the mid teens (Pre-1915’ish). Around the mid-teens, Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett and Company used the trade name “OVB” denoting, “Our Very Best” line of merchandise when referring to their fishing tackle, and otheritems such as pocket knives, etc. With no sign of the OVB logo on this sign, I can only deduce it pre-dates that period. This sign is 24 inches long with minimal condition issues. You will likely never seen another one. Very rare Allcock’s Fishing Tackle lithographed tin, two-sided brown trout advertising sign. Only few of these signs are known to exist. Super colors on both sides. While it does have some minor dents, however it is completely intact with nice original paint on both sides. Allcock’s is a very old company, dating well back into the 1800’s. The sign is approximately 16 long. BOUGHT THIS WONDERFUL OLD FISHING TACKLE SIGN FROM A LOCAL MID MICHIGAN ESTATE AND DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT. MADE BY OHIO ADVERTISING DISPLAY COMPANY. LIGHTED DISPLAY SIGN IS LARGE AND MEASURES 27 1/2″ LONG, 5 1/4″ TALL AND 4 1/4 DEEP. THERE IS PAINT MISSING ON THE GLASS AND GLASS HAS CRACKED AND BEEN GLUED. LOOKS TO BE SOME FINGERNAIL POLISH DROPS ON TOP. SOME DENTS AND SOME RUST. WOULD BE A GREAT FIXER UP AND IT IS QUITE A HARD LIGHTED SIGN TO FIND.
