Offered for sale is an original vintage illuminated retail advertising sign for Edwin Clapp & Son, a premium American men’s shoe brand known for high-quality footwear. The sign features the slogan “America’s Finest Shoes for Men” and would have been displayed in upscale shoe stores during the brand’s peak years. Original illuminated examples are scarce and highly sought after by collectors and designers. These labels confirm authentic commercial manufacture and help date the piece to the mid-1900s. This is not a reproduction or modern decor sign. Some surface wear and patina present. No modern LED conversion observed. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. Dimensions?? 20″ long 9″ tall 3 deep.
There is extensive damage to this clock. The face of the clock was broken into pieces and someone used packaging tape to reassemble it. The tape and bubbles inside the tape can be seen when the light is on. The breaks and cracks can be seen on the outside of the face. Because the plastic face is so brittle I didn’t want any heat on it so I put in LED lights on the inside to illuminate it instead of what was in there which was a tube fluorescent light. There are a lot of scratches, scuffs and marks on the metal frame. When the clock is first plugged in you need to give the second hand a little nudge to get it started, it also starts a little loud, but then quiets down. The second hand is a little jumpy and runs backwards here and there when its warming up. Im not entirely sure how much life the clock mechanism has left with all the issues described. I’m not sure if it’s the original clock mechanism or not. The clock seems to keep okay time. It may be a little fast. Please review the photos carefully to determine the exact condition of the clock. If you have any questions after review of the photos, please feel free to reach out to me.

Very rare sansui collectible.. Opened and lightly cleaned, lights work, but can probably be changed to brighter LED. Take a minute to warm up and light up, I don’t know if that is normal or to this unit specifically. External Chrome case is in pretty good condition. As you can see, it does have several scratches and a few dents, but it’s pretty straight.. Plexiglass has two slight cracks as seen in pics.. Any questions, please ask..
