We offer for your consideration a Wallace Berrie’s 1983 Super Smurf Collector’s Center with 32 figurines from the 1980s, plus many assorted accessories. This showcase was gently displayed. This show case is one of two from this elder gentleman’s private collection. — We will list the second display case this week. The other case may have pieces that belong with some of the pieces in this set. It was hard for me to tell which pieces belonged together, so I left it as I found it. You will note that this show case no longer spins on the rod which connected the round disc with the hole to the show case. — This set does not have the original rod; however, all of the plexiglass panels are intact with no noticeable major blemishes, scratches, or obvious marks. The showcase could use a gentle cleaning. The interior is clean, but the outside has a thick layer of dust inside the ridges. —Please see photos for the minor wear on the case. On the Super Smurf graphics you will note a 1/4 hairline crack on the right bottom edge where the panel meets the plexiglass. The showcase itself is clean enough that I did not clean it. This was stored inside in a clean bedroom and free of smoke or pets. It is remarkably clean and well preserved for the age. —The other show case is even more spectacular. The graphics and printed words are bright and bold. The original one owner collected many toys from the 1980s and was beyond the age of playing with them. The characters have varying degrees of wear and age to them. It appears he bought some of them new and some of them used. Or, perhaps he bought them new and some of them show more apparent age. — The four Peyo Galoob 1982 wind-up toys show paint loss. The Ol’ McSmurf shows significant paint loss on the metal. All of these characters are 1979 through 1980s. Several have permanent marker i. #s on the bottom.
