If you collect vintage Superman memorabilia, here’s something that you’ll love. It’s a store display for the line of superhero string puppets made in 1977 by Madison. This store display even includes the original Superman string puppet (or marionette) which came with it. And it’s never been used! Although the graphics on this store display also picture Batman and Wonder Woman, Superman is the only puppet in this display. The Superman puppet came wrapped in brown paper, and the top portion of the paper has been peeled back, probably so the original retail location could see which puppet was inside. The store display comes with an electric motor which would operate every few minutes and cause Superman to bounce around. This motor has not been tested so it may or may not work after 40+ years. Please don’t ask me to test it for you because that would require removing the marionette from the factory wrapping. The top portion of the display is made of wood, while the rest is made of cardboard. This store display is 25″ tall, 11.5″ wide, and 12 deep from front to back.
