VINTAGE ART DECO TALL STORE DISPLAY CABINET MODERN ABSTRACT DESIGN C. 1920’S (POSSIBLY 1930’s) STORE DISPLAY SHOE CABINET MADE BY OSCAR ONKEN CO, CINCINNATI, OHIO 48 X 14 X 12 APPROX. Overall exceptional original condition. Some blemishes and marks from wear and use. In my opinion, it is in excellent condition. However, consider it VG so as not to over estimate its appearance. Door and drawer knobs are correct but door knob needs refastened. Screw hole is a bit cored. I have taken a number of pictures. So please look carefully. Striking abstract modern geometric design. I won’t call this piece unique (though very nearly), but it is certainly uncommon and certainly quite scarce. The Abstract design makes it quite desirable. Please take a look at the pics and ask questions. I will be as flexible as possible with pick-up, so please inquire. The item “VINTAGE OSCAR ONKEN STORE DISPLAY CABINET MODERN ABSTRACT C. 1920’S ART DECO” is in sale since Friday, July 5, 2013. This item is in the category “Antiques\Periods & Styles\Art Deco”. Vtg Winchester Pocket Knife Display Case 1920's Style General Store Merchandiser

Vtg Winchester Pocket Knife Display Case 1920's Style General Store Merchandiser
Vtg Winchester Pocket Knife Display Case 1920’s Style General Store Merchandiser. Classic Vintage Style Winchester Pocket Knife Display Case. Old General Store Counter Top Merchandiser. 15 1/2 ” wide (left to right) x 13″ deep (front to back) Side Profile 6″ high sloped to 3″ at front. Displays up to 26 Knives up to 5 Long. 1/4 Brass Rod Knife Stop. Wide Plank Yellow Pine Construction. Details are reproduced from an old case in my collection. Each piece represents over 50 years experience in the cabinet and furniture making trade. Built like they were 125 years ago, using furniture making detail and joinery. All of the old Knife manufacturers such as Winchester, Remington, Keen Kutter, Shapleigh, Cattarugus, Diamond Edge, Case and others, would provide this type display to the general store and would gain premium counter top location for sales and exposure of their brand. I love everything related to the turn of the century cutlery business. In addition to knives, I collect vintage knife advertising and display cases. I have always been amazed at the lack of display options available to todays knife collector. All my displays are crafted using traditional furniture making detail, joinery and finishing tecniques. Hand crafted in my furniture making shop with some very old and cherished machinery. Holy Moly Lonnie the display case got here today and I would say that you are an artist in your own right. It is beautiful and I give it a 10!! I will put some of my keeper knives in it and send you a picture………….. Chuck in Oysterville, Washington. Lonnie I received the display case on Friday. It arrived in perfect condition and it exceeded my expectations. Your work is that of a master craftsman………….. If you are looking for a beautiful piece of vintage case work to display your old folders in, then this vintage display case will make a beautiful addition to your collection. It is collectible in its own right and will show off your knife collection in a classic and nostalgic way. A beautiful reminder of the way the old knife companies used to merchandise their pocket knives. Each Display’s patina and finish employs an antique furniture finishing process. Every case will be unique and beautiful in its own way. The finish on the case you recieve, may vary slightly over the one pictured, but is guaranteed to always be beautiful and period correct. Remember John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus that whoever would place their trust in Him and believe in Him will not perish but are given eternal life”. Every sin we have committed that separates us from a relationship with God is forgiven and forgotten when washed in the precious shed blood of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Decoeyes Mannequin Head/Bust Vintage 1920s Style Store Hat Display Nicole
My mannequin heads were made by Decoeyes (Jerry & Susie) in the U. Since Jerrys mannequin heads were so well made, I found them to be completely addictive and I have a lot of them. I will be listing them whenever I can, but this will take time. I used them mainly for photography and many are like new but others have sustained some bumps and bruises, which I will describe to the best of my ability and include in the pictures. These were made of some sort of resin and are nearly unbreakable. There were ones that were cast in what he called Waxi-Cast and I believe I can point those out, as they have a darker complexion than the rest. They were all cast from original mannequin heads of the period and all work was done by hand, including painting and casting. I actually have one that is old and one that is new (Ivy), and I treasure them both as you can really see how he made his mannequin heads so well. The name of this mannequin head is Nicole. This is an exact quote from Decoeyes original description of Nicole. This is a replica of a 1920’s store display mannequin head. This display is 15″ tall and has a 22″ forehead circumference. These early Berlin, Germany models were the best available during this era. This head imparts a period euro look as a hat display and is about as pretty as they come. She has a very unique asymmetrical Eton bob hairstyle; the right side ends in the classical point trim while the left side terminates in a flirty chignon. The colors and detail style used are accurate to the flapper era and specifically to 20’s vogue Germany; this is how a display model in a truly vintage 1920s store would appear. This model is very close to what the original display appeared in its new, out-of-the box condition and consequently will display fine vintage apparel in an accurate and tasteful manner. The primary objective of Decoeyes is to duplicate a historically correct hat and jewelry shop display mannequin true to the golden era of mannequin production (the 1920’s through the 1950’s). We work very hard to create a model that closely resembles a new, mint-in-the-box original display from this era. “Old School” techniques are utilized and no compromises are accepted solely for the purpose of reducing material costs or saving time of labor. This model was cast with our own technique that we have named “Waxi-Cast”. The material used is a non-toxic and very durable urethane manufactured in the USA. The skin is formed with different layers of translucency and resembles the old wax heads of this era. There is a 1 1/4 hole in the bottom that safely permits display on a stand if you so desire. Apparel and stand are not included in the sale. There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man’s lawful prey! Nicole has blonde hair, beautiful hand painted blue eyes, and lovely makeup. Her base is trimmed with metallic silver paint. She is marked on the bottom as follows: Decoeyes, 11-21-05. Her name isnt inscribed but I know she is Nicole. Nicole is in very good condition with a few small spots where the paint is missing, on the side of her head and on the back (see pictures). Decoeyes mannequins are the ONLY ones I know of that are EXACT reproductions of vintage ones. It’s nice to have one of the old ones but they invariably have chips, cracks, have been repainted (sometimes very crudely), and who knows what? And most are made of plaster, which isn’t nearly as durable as the resin that was used by Decoeyes. Im sure you will love this mannequin head, as I did for so many years! The item “Decoeyes Mannequin Head/Bust Vintage 1920s Style Store Hat Display Nicole” is in sale since Monday, March 13, 2017. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Advertising\Merchandise & Memorabilia\Mannequins”. The seller is “somewhereintime6766″ and is located in Nesconset, New York. They were all cast from original mannequin heads of the period and all work was done by hand, including painting and casting. I actually have one that is old and one that is new (Ivy), and I treasure them both as you can really see how he made his mannequin heads so well. The name of this mannequin head is Ruby. The following is an exact quote from Decoeyes original description of Ruby. This is a precise REPLICA of a 1920’s department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. This fine model has a very 20’s period look and is great for vintage apparel display. A near-mint original display results in a very nice mold that appears as a brand new 1920’s model. The height of this model is 15″ and the forehead circumference is 21 3/4″. The apparel shown is for display only and is not included in the sale. This particular Ruby casting was one of the last done in our Waxi-Cast technique utilizing three “skin layers” of different translucencies and intrinsic colors. The materials that we utilized with these castings are no longer available and consequently our new models will be painted conventionally. There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man’s lawful prey! The photos are of the exact mannequin that is being offered. She has red/blonde–actually looks like the color of copper without the metallic sheen strawberry blonde? Hair, hand painted green eyes, and wonderful make-up. Please look at the pictures, as they are part of the description. I feel sure the one I have is made in the Waxi-Cast technique, as she has the typical darker complexion and looks like wax. She appears to be in excellent, almost like-new condition, with perhaps a few tiny scuffs (no paint loss) from being around for so many years. There is one very small scuff on the top of her head near the forehead. It is not noticeable and you have to look for it. There is a small “mark” on the back of her base but I believe this happened during manufacturing and is not a damage. She is marked on the bottom as follows: Decoeyes, 2-4-07, Ruby.
