Vintage Bulova Caravelle Wrist Watch llluminated Motion Revolving Window Display 1950’s Advertising for Shops – Dealers. Cool piece of history! Awesome dresser, nightlight, or mancave/sheshed nostalgic piece. Comes in original company box. This neat stand alone advertising display lights up and rotates. Originally made to display Bulova Caravelle Illuminated wrist watches in the 1950’s. Features 4 simple metal hooks to hold watches. Can hold necklaces and bracelets and use as a jewelry display stand. Navy blue velvet flocked, thick cardboard shade cover. Ad printed white heatproof shade with metal fan cut top. Fiber board on back of signage. Possibly laminated Formica on front. Triangular shape stand has 3 metal rubber tipped feet. Comes with an incandescent light bulb. Has standard old style electric wired plug and it works. To operate, remove the corrugated paper core from middle of shade and remove the red cover on top of pin. Very important that the shade sits evenly and directly centered on pin in order to “float”. It’s a bit tricky but you must ensure entire piece is on a true level flat surface to make it work. The heat from the bulb will make the shade rotate at a decent flow (not slow, not fast) to easily read the advertisement. Original paper slip attached to bubble wrap states the directions. Dimensions – Overall measures. 17.5″ high x 16.5″ wide x 8 deep. Shade: 9″ high x 4.5″ in diameter. Watch hooks: 4.75 across. Back stand: 14-3/8 high. Shade cover: about 12″ long x 5.5″ wide. Front top sign: 14″ across x 4.5″ high. Item weight: 4 lbs 8 oz. In fairly good condition for its age. We have a video to show this but not allowed to add it here. No cracks on shade. No rips on velvet cover board. Back of velvet cover has white tape and is starting to pull away. Some tarnish and light rust spots here and there on metal parts. Light peeling on back of header sign. All details and flaws shown in pics. We do not use filters or enhancers in our photos. It has vintage dust and grime. We do not clean antique and vintage items that have historical value.
