This is a pair of vintage Levi’s 501 Button-Fly Redline Selvedge Clothing Store Advertisement Display from the very late 1970’s to early 1980’s. During the early 1980’s Levi’s began phasing out the selvedge denim and went to an overlock stitch. These jeans are grouped into some of the last selvedge denim jeans made by Levi’s. They feature rivets that were only used before 1982, and black bartacking on the back pockets, which date them to around this time period. Also the inside garment tag is one of the last used to advise they will shrink when washed by 10%. After these tags 10% changed to 3%. They weigh 3 lbs 10 oz. And are a real, authentic pair of jeans with a 76″ waist and a 45″ inseam. This pair can fit two grown men easily inside each leg, with room to spare! They have been steam cleaned and look great!
