My mannequin heads were made by Decoeyes (Jerry & Susie) in the U. Since Jerrys mannequin heads were so well made, I found them to be completely addictive and I have a lot of them. I will be listing them whenever I can, but this will take time. I used them mainly for photography and many are like new but others have sustained some bumps and bruises, which I will describe to the best of my ability and include in the pictures. These were made of some sort of resin and are nearly unbreakable. There were ones that were cast in what he called Waxi-Cast and I believe I can point those out, as they have a darker complexion than the rest. They were all cast from original mannequin heads of the period and all work was done by hand, including painting and casting. The name of this mannequin head is Ivy. This is an exact quote from Decoeyes original description of Ivy. This is a precise REPLICA of a late 1940’s department store display bust that was molded directly from a vintage model. This mold is highly detailed and reveals great castings. The height is 15″ and the forehead circumference is 20 1/2″. Apparel is for display only and not included in the sale. The primary objective of Decoeyes is to duplicate a historically correct hat and jewelry shop display mannequin true to the golden era of mannequin production (the 1920’s through the 1950’s). We work very hard to create a model that closely resembles a new, mint-in-the-box original display from this era. This model will TASTEFULLY display (and compliment) apparel without dominating it. “Old School” techniques are utilized and this specific model is very close in color and style as to what would have been found in a 1920s or 30s hat shop. To be more specific, check out auctions by some outstanding sellers: nancybcat, marymuldoon, moonglowroad, and fantasyofjewels……. The “proof is in the pudding”……. You may see how our mannequins model some really fine apparel. Ivy has blonde hair, beautiful hand painted sky blue eyes, and lovely makeup. I believe the 9-26-4 was for September 26, 2004. Decoeyes mannequins are the ONLY ones I know of that are EXACT reproductions of vintage ones. It’s nice to have one of the old ones but they invariably have chips, cracks, have been repainted (sometimes very crudely), and who knows what? And most are made of plaster, which isn’t nearly as durable as the resin that was used by Decoeyes. Im sure you will love this mannequin head, as I did for so many years! Condition: Please use the photos as part of the description. She has sustained some “scuff” marks and there is some staining on her left side, as shown. Not sure how to clean it, so I left it that way. She still displays nicely and she is one of my favorites.
