Antique Oak Spool Cabinet George A. Clark General Store Sewing Thread Display. Overall good condition for it’s age. Missing dividers in drawers for spool. Made of solid wood, the drawer bottoms appear to be one solid wide piece of wood! Top is loose on left side and will need glued. Missing small piece on lower front right corner (see pic). Looks like it was used in a shop or garage for storage at some point in it’s life. Original finish as far as I can tell. Signage on front is applied, not painted on and has a lot of scratches. Label on top reads As this cabinet is supplied at a very great expense it is respectfully requested that no spool cotton will be kept in it except Clark’s O. This is an original vintage metal Coats & Clark’s O. Boilfast Mercerized thread spool countertop display cabinet with sliding glass doors. The cabinet is marked Capitol Counter Display Co. (Brooklyn, NY) on the back. The cabinet is filled with many unused vintage Coats & Clark thread spools, but there are a few spools from other brands that were thrown in. Each row in the cabinet is labeled with a different thread color, and the spools are currently not displayed in the correct rows. The cabinet overall is in very good condition with typical surface wear from age and use. The sliding doors are a bit difficult to slide (there are no handles on them, you just have to push them by hand) but they do work and the cabinet is fully functional. There is some paint missing and the metal has acquired some areas of surface rust (visible in the photos). A couple of the thread compartments inside have some paint missing and flaking underneath the spools. There is some dirty, dusty residue inside, but overall, the interior looks very good. The cabinet has no obvious dents and nothing is broken or repaired.
