This is a vintage Sony “ON AIR” illuminated studio sign, believed to have been manufactured in Japan around 1979. Once used in professional broadcasting environments or as promotional displays, this rare Sony product is highly prized for its distinctive retro design. When illuminated, the large white “ON AIR” lettering and Sony logo stand out against the red front panel, making it a striking accent piece for a studio, office, shop, garage, or collection room. Due to its age and limited availability, finding a unit that still functions properly is extremely difficult today. It has been tested, and the internal light illuminates correctly.
